Dear Parents,
Next week we will be starting our Themed Literature Unit on Building New Relationships. The unit will focus on three main ideas;
forming a new relationship takes work, meaningful relationships can be formed
with those very different from oneself, and sometimes you need to take a risk
to form a new relationship. We will also
be trying to answer the following three questions throughout the unit:
What does it mean to start a new relationship?
What does it take for someone to be able to form a new relationship?
How do people form new relationships?
My hope is that this unit will enhance your children’s understanding of what it means to have a meaningful friendship as they prepare to enter young adulthood.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at reedl@seattleu.edu or via Mrs. Van Oeveran’s school phone line, which is available in the student handbook.
Sincerely,
Laura Reed
P.S. For free internet access, you can become a member of the King County Library System. Any resident of King County can join, and it's free!
